A lot To Be Proud Of: Gay founder-brewers in Vietnam launch Rainbow Bundle to support Queer Community

To celebrate and commemorate Pride Month, founder-brewers Chris, Thomas and Mark of Overmorrow, Furbrew and Winking Seal Brewing Company respectively have come together to support the queer community in Vietnam. Coining the slogan “Good beers for a good cause”, the trio’s beer bundle features signature best-sellers from the three brands as well as The Tipsy Unicorn’s (Saigon’s first openly LGBTQ-friendly bar) new limited edition Peach and Yuzu ‘Hard On’ Seltzer which showcases some of the city’s most infamous drag queens such as Mel Practice, Gumamela Bloom and Sen Riot-Bloom.

Additionally, the Rainbow Bundle supports Hanoi Queer Community and 20% of all sales as well as 100% of donations will be given to the non-profit organisation which aims to create safe mental and physical spaces for the LGBTQ community in Hanoi. Speaking about the initiative, Thomas Bilgram says “It’s payback time. I have benefitted from prides and gay networks around the world so now it is my time to pay back to the community.”

For Craig Haggart, founder of The Tipsy Unicorn, he explains “gay bars are often ‘safe’ spaces for the LGBTQ community to express themselves and feel comfortable in their own skin outside of their day-to-day roles and responsibilities. This ‘free to be’ spirit is obliterated during a pandemic and it can be quite mentally stressful for the community so I wanted to create a product that reminded them to celebrate the fun, frisky and fabulous self that they are no matter what colour of the rainbow and no matter they are. And what better time to do it than during Pride Month?"

The Rainbow Bundle is sold on Beer Fridge, Saigon’s first (and only) dedicated beer e-commerce store and includes signatures such as OVERMORROW Leann on Mía, Furbrew’s Lemongrass Wheat and Winking Seal Brewing’s Sailing Club Dragon Fruit inspired by Mui Ne, the world’s dragonfruit capital (only available in the Saigon Rainbow Bundle). The Rainbow Bundle is available in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City until the end of September 2021 and is priced at 356,000 VND for a pack of six 330ml beers.
